MULBERI is a New Zealand family owned business with a rich history dating back to 1939. The Furtex story began with Arnold Heath, who founded the business in late 1930's under the name of Arnold M Heath Ltd. Arnold's training and passion lay in the fashionable - of the time - real fur trade. He travelled the world sourcing the best in exotic hide, leather and fur products, often attending overseas auctions in London and New York.
The emphasis turned towards the home interiors market in the late 90's as the third generation began to take the reins. The attention moved to textiles and faux fur, with the design and development of cushion, throw, and floor rug ranges. It is from these raw beginnings that the Mulberi & Heirloom brands were created.
